I want to thank you for your interest in my work and for taking the time to learn more about my craft, which I hold so dear to my heart.
My journey as a designer/leather craftsman began when I was around twelve years old, back when I attempted to make my first handbag, or what some might say was an object that vaguely resembled a bag of some sort. Ever since that first attempt, I became obsessed and wanted to learn all that I could when it comes to leather goods and leather crafting.
A few years later, I found myself applying for colleges that offered accessory design with a focus on leather bags and shoes. I learned a lot during my college years, about life, but mainly about the standards and expectations in the fashion accessory world.
After graduation, I continued on my path of learning in a much more independent way, focusing on experimentation and trying different ways of working. It is impressive how much you can learn from a few online videos and a bunch of failures at the worktable. Eventually, during this time, I discovered my ideal way of creating, the way a true craftsman creates, using one’s hands, mind, and heart. I find joy in making things with my hands instead of with machines. To be able to make something truly special with my two hands for another person makes the creation itself more meaningful, almost as if you feel the love and care that the craftsman had while creating it.
During my time of experimentation after college, I had the pleasure of doing some work for other designers and craftsmen in both New York and Zürich. These industry experiences were very enlightening and crucial for my growth moving forward. I eventually got to a point in my life where all the knowledge I gathered over the years began to make me feel genuinely confident in my work, which instilled in me the desire to share what I consider to be beautiful with the world and begin the creation of my own bespoke leather goods brand in a very deliberate and passionate way.
Everything I do with my work and this brand is an act of love to the craft I hold so dearly. Every crease, pricked hole, saddle stitch, and layer of edge paint is a work of true passion and a devotion to the people in this world who also share my love for real craftsmanship and things that truly can not be mass-produced.
